Ohio Valley Gas (OVG) has collected from some of its customers, and expects to continue to collect from some customers, a cash deposit as a condition for initiating or continuing to receive gas service from OVG. The circumstances for collecting as well as refunding such deposits are set forth in OVG’s tariff on file with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC), https://ovgc.com/information/rates-regulatory-information/

OVG intends to make a filing seeking permission from the IURC to modify its tariff in order to allow OVG the flexibility to refund such deposits received from some of its non-residential customers prior to disconnecting the depositing customer’s gas service. If the IURC approves OVG’s proposed tariff change, certain business customers and other non-residential commercial customers who have been receiving and timely paying for gas service from OVG for multiple years will likely receive their deposit back from OVG, along with unpaid interest, even though they intend to remain customers of OVG.

OVG anticipates filing its proposed tariff change on or before February 15, 2019, with IURC approval expected by the end of March, 2019.

Anyone wishing to object to OVG’s proposed tariff change may contact either the Secretary of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission at: PNC Center, 101 W. Washington Street, Suite 1500E, Indianapolis, IN 46204, or the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor by calling (888) 441-2492 or (317) 232-2494.
